It's All About The Journey With Azamara

In this video you will experience the spirit of Azamara- a hidden gem in the cruise industry- and discover their boutique hotels at sea that sail to all 7 continents.

About Azamara

Longer Stays & Overnights

Life isn't a 9 to 5 experience. Azamara voyages aren't either. With late night or overnight stays in most ports, you'll experience destinations after dark and as the sun rises. No other cruise line lets you explore further.

Unparalleled Destinations

Discover unforgettable ports and unexpected places around the globe. Azamara's intimate, boutique ships can fit in smaller ports bigger vessels can't visit, so you'll access gorgeous locales other cruises can't even visit.

Country-Intensive Voyages

Beyond just a snapshot of a region, you'll get the full picture with in-depth, immersive itineraries consisting of several ports within one country, allowing you to connect to the authentic heart of local life and culture.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is every restaurant and dining area included in the cruise fare?

Club World Owner’s Suite, Club Ocean Suite, and Club Continent Suite guests can dine in any of Azamara's six restaurants without additional cost. For all other guests, there are dining packages starting at $85 which include 3 nights to dine in the ship's specialty restaurants Prime C and Aqualina, while the other four restaurants are included in the price of your voyage.

  • Is there an additional cost for shore excursions and special events?

Yes, there is a small fee for each "Cruise Global, Connect Local" shore excursion that covers the cost of admission to attractions, transportation, and other associated tour fees.

Private tours and excursions are available too. CruiseInsider will work with Azamara to create any experience you'd like or customize any existing signature tour, typically not a problem as long as we're notified at least 30 days prior to sailing.

We strongly suggest booking your shore excursions with a CruiseInsider expert prior to departure to avoid disappointment, since all the experiences are on a first come first serve basis. There is however a shore excursions kiosk onboard each voyage for you to book any last-minute excursions.

  • What types of shore excursions and land tours are available?

There are dozens of unique, exciting excursion options available in every port, from cultural immersion to guided foodie tours to late night touring to immersive exploration in every port, as well as exclusive tours, events and entertainment that only Azamara guests have access to. Once booked, your CruiseInsider advisor can help you choose the perfect excursion or event suited for your interest, budget or activity level.

To assist guests in choosing an ideal shore excursion, all Azamara tours have been graded according to the level of activity they entail: Mild/Moderate/Strenuous, as well as excursions recommended for guests with limited mobility.

Level 1 shore excursions are geared toward guests who are able to walk short distances, can negotiate motor coach steps, and travel with a standard manual collapsible wheelchair, walker, rollator, or a folding cane.

Level 2 excursions are for those guests who are unable to walk short distances, cannot negotiate motor-coach steps and who travel with a wheelchair/scooter.

  • If I have mobility issues, are there excursions and tour options for me?

Absolutely! Azamara offers easy shore excursions and "accessible" tours in select ports that are designed for guests in wheelchairs, or guests who are unable to walk or negotiate motor coach steps. If you want or need to take one of these tours, simply speak to your CruiseInsider advisor prior to departure and we can accomodate these requests.

Due to the limited number of seats available in these specialized vehicles and the limited number of "accessible" tour options available for mobility-challenged guests, Azamara gives preferences on these tours to those guests in need of an accessible vehicle and their companion.

In destinations where the tour operators do not have vehicles outfitted with lifts or ramps, private transportation is sourced to provide transportation to any full time wheelchair user guests wishing to participate in Azamara shore excursions. This private transportation is upon request, subject to availability, and carries an additional cost. The type transportation (lift/ramp, van/sedan) sourced varies per tour operator and destination.

In order to safely board most tenders, guests must be able to take steps and use a collapsible manual wheelchair. In addition, motorized wheelchairs and mobility scooters cannot be taken on tenders, unless roll-on capability is available. Weather, sea conditions, and other factors may preclude tendering, as safety of guests and crew is Azamara's primary consideration, and the Captain and staff will make the final decision regarding transferring guests and their assistive devices based on safety reasons.

Keep in mind, that due to the historical nature of the sites and venues at some ports of call as well as the uneven terrain, inclines, steps to negotiate and narrow sidewalks, not all tours offer access to wheelchair/scooters.

  • What is the dress code on board Azamara?

In all of dining rooms and specialty restaurants guests are encouraged to adhere to a “resort casual” dress code, following good taste and common sense. Bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, bathing suits, bath robes, shorts, and jeans are not allowed, and guests must always wear footwear and a cover-up or shirt.

Many guests however—especially those attending specialty restaurants—enjoy dressing up, although formal evening wear (ball gowns and tuxedos) is not expected. We recommend that men bring a sport coat or suit; for women, dresses, skirts, blouses with pants and capris are all appropriate attire.

Specific theme nights do happen on several itineraries as well as off-ship events or special evening activities, and as such, we recommend you dress accordingly and appropriately for these.

  • What beverages are included in my cruise fare?

Your cruise fare covers select standard spirits, international beers, and a changing selection of two red and two white wines, and one rosé and one sparkling wine by the glass each day throughout your voyage.

Additional beverage packages are available for purchase. Speak to a CruiseInsider expert to learn about the various options for beer, spirits, wine and more.

  • What are AzAmazing Celebrations?

Azamara features programming surrounding their Destination Immersion belief, in-depth travel experiences that connect you to the heart of local culture. AzAmazing Celebrations takes that concept a step further with private, bespoke events delivering authentic travel moments that bring you closer to your destination, its culture and its people. Best of all, one is included for free on all cruises except transatlantic crossings and voyages that are less than seven nights long.

These ever-changing, one-of-a-kind experiences will create a night to remember and could include a night out at the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, watching Maori culture come alive with a performance at the Te Papa Museum, or seeing acrobats soaring in a private show in Monaco.

  • Can I use my Onboard Credit (OBC) before my cruise departs?

Unlike many other cruise lines, guests sailing with Azamara may use their OBC pre-cruise to reserve Azamara Shore Excursions before boarding up until two days prior to their voyage. To book your shore excursions in advance, speak to a CruiseInsider expert and we can guide you through the process. Currently, guests may only use their onboard credit towards the pre-purchase of shore excursions. Guests will not be able to use their onboard credit to purchase beverage, Internet, dining, spa, etc., until they get onboard the ship.

  • What can I expect on Azamara's overnight stays in port?

Azamara strongly believes travel is one of those things in life that shouldn’t be rushed, and we couldn’t agree more. That’s why Azamara is one of the only cruise lines dedicated to extended time in ports and more overnight stays that allow guests to fully experience the culture, cuisine, scenery, festivals, and people of every destination at all hours of the day.

When you stay longer, you experience more—especially on Azamara. Seeing destinations come alive after dark is something other cruise lines rarely do, but it’s standard for Azamara and makes experiencing authentic nightlife safe and easy. Their "Cruise Global, Nights Local" mantra allows you to explore places after-hours, be it at the theater, a local pub, a cultural performance, or another intriguing locale.
